MUS 104-01 Exploring World Music Cultures: Grading

This course is an introduction to the study of music cultures around the world.

Grading and classroom policies

Requirements: All readings must be completed as indicated in the schedule; there will be two exams, homework assignments, and you are required to attend a concert and write a paper about the concert experience. All late assignments will be penalized a full grade, and will not be accepted beyond one week past the due date. Absence does not excuse fyou from due dates or exams without a doctor’s note. Unexcused absence and lateness are unacceptable and can significantly lower your grade. Four unexcused absences will result in your being dropped from the course. Two latenesses equal one absence

 

Grading: Your grade will consist of the point totals accrued through the exams,  and paper, with a possible total of 100 points: two exams (25 points each); homework assignments (20 points) concert report (25 points); consistent attendance and class participation (5 points).
