Quick guide for students by Ellen Sexton. esexton [at]

How to get works that our library does not have

If you know that an article or a book exists, and we do not have it in our library, we can get it for you. You will need to know the FULL CITATION.

Warning - journal article arrive  very quickly, usually in less than a week, but books take much much longer to get here, so plan accordingly.  You might have to wait three or four weeks before a book arrives.

For books, please first search the library catalog.  If the book is in a CUNY library, use CLICS to request it.  The book should arrive in a few days.

If you want an article, or you want a book that is not in CUNY library, log in to our interlibrary loan system to ask us to get it for you.
