The Library entrance is on the lower ground floor of the Haaren Hall (T building). Enter at the Tenth Avenue entrance (between 58th and 59th St), take the escalators downstairs, make a U-turn, and enter through the security gates by showing your John Jay ID.

How do I connect from off-campus?

When you are not physically at John Jay, access the databases by first going to the library homepage, then click on the database links.  You will be prompted for your John Jay email user name and password.

Your user name is the letters preceding the @ sign in your email address. For example the email address for John Smith is john.smith@jjay.cuny.edu. Enter john.smith in the user name box. Your password is the one you are currently using to access your email. If you experience problems while logging in, please visit the Password Reset Site or call the DoIT help desk at 212 237 8200.

Get Help from a Reference Librarian

When you do research for your classes, you shouldn't hesitate to ask a reference librarian for assistance. Determining which resources you should choose, knowing how to search them, and being able to incorporate the newly found information into your paper are skills you will need to learn. Becoming a savvy researcher may take a while. In the meantime, you can count on the reference librarians to guide you through the research process.
