The information in this guide includes information on the historical, cultural, and sociological impact of mass media including electronic media such as television, radio, movies, and other digital forms of communication. In addition, it provides resources for the study and practice of journalism*. The fields of media studies, communications and journalism are all interdisciplinary – they touch on many other subject areas – so you will find many of the other subject guides useful in your research, too. If you need help with your research, just come and visit us at the reference desk on the 2nd floor of the library.

You can also reach a reference librarian by phone at (212)237-8246, text your query to (646)256-5199 or ask a question by email.

*For more specialized journalism resources, please see the library's Journalism Resources guide.

Please note that this subject guide is a work in progress and will have more information and resources added to it over the coming months. So please come back to check out what's new.
