Additional resources for imperial and colonial history

If your topic involves imperialism, you should also look at the specialized geographic encyclopedias. For example, the UNESCO General History of Africa, Vol. 6 is devoted to colonial rule in Africa (find in listed under the Africa tab), and Europe 1789-1914: Encyclopedia of the Age of Industry and Empire has lots of useful articles related to imperialism (find it listed under the Europe/West tab). You'll find lots of stuff on neocolonialism in the Encyclopedia of Latin American History and Culture (find it listed under the Latin America and Caribbean tab).
